Caring for your LUMILOX

Beautifully delicate. Effortlessly wearable.

LUMILOX is designed to be enjoyed as part of your everyday life. With a little thoughtful care, your strands can continue to catch the light beautifully as you wash, style, swim and move through your day. Gentle care makes the real difference to their longevity.

Absolutely. You can shampoo and condition your hair while wearing LUMILOX.

Wash gently around the attachment points, rinse thoroughly and avoid vigorous rubbing or tangling. Apply heavier conditioners and oils away from the knots to help maintain their hold.

Yes. Brush gently from the ends upwards, taking care around the attachment points to avoid pulling on individual strands.

Hair is more fragile when wet, so gently detangle with a wide-tooth comb or wait until partially dry before brushing.

Yes! LUMILOX is designed for an everyday lifestyle that includes ocean and pool swimming.

Simply rinse your hair with fresh water afterwards to remove salt and chlorine, then gently detangle and dry as usual. Take a little extra care around the attachment points.

Yes, with a few simple precautions.

LUMILOX has demonstrated strong performance in our in-house heat-styling. For everyday styling, we recommend heat of no more than 150°C - 180°C.

Avoid prolonged direct contact with heated tools and take care around the attachment points.

Yes. LUMILOX's fine, flexible strands can be styled to complement your natural hair.

Our in-house trials have shown excellent curl and texture retention. Use gentle styling techniques, keeping heated tools within the recommended temperature guidance.

While LUMILOX can withstand colour treatments, we recommend applying LUMILOX after your colour appointment.

We recommend that the strands should not be directly exposed to bleach, permanent hair colour or strong chemical treatments, as these may affect their finish or integrity.

If you're planning a colour service, let your stylist know you have LUMILOX installed. If you do colour your hair while wearing LUMILOX you may notice that the 'sparkle' reduces.

LUMILOX is individually hand-tied to a single natural hair using our discreet application technique.

Wear time varies according to your natural hair-shedding cycle, application, hair type and daily care. Strands may remain in place for several weeks, often shedding naturally with the hair to which they're attached.

Your LUMILOX Artist can advise you on what to expect and how to care for your strands.

As each strand is attached to an individual hair, many will release naturally as that hair sheds.

If you'd like to remove your strands sooner, you can easily do that yourself. You will only be sacrificing the one hair it is tied to. Of course your LUMILOX Artist can assist with removal too.

LUMILOX strands are made from fine metallic yarn containing synthetic materials, including plastic, and are not biodegradable.

When removing your strands, we encourage you to collect them and dispose of them thoughtfully in your general household waste, rather than washing them down the drain or releasing them into the environment.

Due to their fine size and mixed-material composition, LUMILOX strands are not suitable for household recycling.
